Botanical ingredient applications.

Explore botanical ingredient applications in supplements, food and beverages, and personal care. Define formulation, processing and documentation requirements.

Define the purchasing checks for your application

These application areas are starting points for an ingredient discussion. Suitability depends on the material, offered grade, finished formulation and destination market.

Dietary supplements

Describe the finished format, such as capsules, tablets, powders or liquids. Define the botanical, plant part, target marker, assay and test method, together with carrier limits and destination requirements.

Food and beverage

Describe the inclusion level, processing temperature, pH, flavour and colour constraints. For a soluble or dispersible ingredient, define the test conditions and assess sediment and performance after processing.

Beauty and personal care

Specify the formulation type, ingredient identity and required INCI information. Review appearance, composition, microbiological limits and compatibility with the base formula for the offered grade.

Sports nutrition and functional formulations

Nutrition powders, drinks and related formulations still need clear marker, carrier and stability requirements. If your brand needs prohibited-substance screening or other specialist testing, state it in the brief so feasibility can be confirmed.

Pet nutrition and animal feed

Identify the animal species, intended use, inclusion level and destination country. Review the ingredient requirements for that use before evaluating grades. Halal or non-GMO documentation does not establish animal-feed eligibility or authorization.

Turn the application into a sample test brief

Describe the manufacturing process and the stage at which the ingredient will be added. Set the dispersibility, sediment, colour, taste, flow or compatibility checks your team will perform, with test conditions and acceptance criteria.

A term such as water-soluble needs reproducible test conditions. Sample testing assesses the material provided; it does not by itself establish commercial-batch consistency or eligibility in the destination market.

Concentration equipment and processing pipework
Existing concentration-equipment photograph for process context; confirm the actual process and records for the proposed source.

Send a brief that makes offers comparable

Separate firm requirements from alternatives you can consider. MOQ, samples, packaging, price and lead time are confirmed against the specification and actual supply conditions.

Ingredient and grade
Botanical name, plant part, target marker, assay or extraction ratio, and test method.
Formula and process
Finished format, inclusion level, temperature, pH, carrier requirements and other constraints.
Quantity and delivery
Sample, trial and expected purchase quantities, packaging, destination and timing.
Documents and review
Agree the specification, relevant declarations, certification needs and sample acceptance criteria before ordering. The manufacturer COA and agreed third-party test reports are provided with the shipment.

Review performance and market eligibility separately

A technical specification or successful bench trial does not establish suitability in every country and product category. Have your technical or regulatory team review requirements for the ingredient, intended use and destination.

Certifications apply to the named business, facility or product within the stated scope and validity. Certificates and declarations answer different questions and are not interchangeable.
